Jacksonville murder suspect arrested in Albany, Ga.

ALBANY, Ga.-- A Jacksonville murder suspect was arrested Saturday at an Motel 6 motel in East Albany, Georgia for the November 4 killing of 36-year-old Philippe Foster, according to the Albany Police Department.

Homicide Detective Dennis Sullivan, with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, and U.S. Marshals assisted the Albany Gang Unit in apprehending James Hiawatha Russell, 27, according to Phyllis Banks, APD public information officer.

Law enforcement officers found drugs and a gun in Russell's possession when he was captured at the motel, Banks said.

Beyond the murder charge, Russell has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a fire arm by a convicted felon, and identity theft by the Albany police.

Russellbeing held in Albanyuntil he is extradited to Florida.
