Jacksonville man dies after motorcycle crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man has died and his wife is recovering from injuries they suffered in a motorcycle crash in Clay County last week, authorities said.

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Stephen Harris was pronounced dead at UF Health Jacksonville about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

On May 4, Harris' motorcycle was heading north on State Road 21 near Blairmore Boulevard when a mini-van driven by Shannon Combs made a left turn to get onto SR 21, causing a collision, the release said.

Combs was cited for failing to yield the right of way during the turn, troopers said.
