Over 1,000 Georgia residents without power following storm

GEORGIA -- Tropical Storm Julia quickly formed overnight and has just passed the Jacksonville area bringing heavy rains and wind. 

The storm is now headed toward the Georgia area and Southern Georgia is already seeing the impacts. 

According to Georgia Power over 1,300 customers are without power early Wednesday morning, a majority of those outages are reported between Sea Island and St. Simons.

There are around 666 customers near Folkston, Ga. in Charlton County that are reported without power. Georgia Power estimates a restoration time of 8:30 a.m.

Outages in Glynn County have dropped to leave only around 300 without power as of 7 a.m., according to the Georgia Power interactive map.

As of 7:15 a.m. Georgia Power showed over 1,000 customers without power off of Fredrica Rd. near Glynn Haven. Estimated restoration time is 8 a.m.
