Hurricane Matthew | Closures and delays for the First Coast

Water service disconnections:

Sewage and water being shut off beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday Oct. 6 at 8 p.m.:

-Duval County east of the Intracoastal Waterway, including all of Jacksonville in that area, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach

-St. Johns County east of Intracoastal Waterway, including Ponte Vedra Beach, Vilano Beach,and Anastasia Island

School Closures & Delays:

- Duval County public schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 6 and Friday, Oct. 7. All after-school activities are canceled on Wednesday.

- St. Johns County public schools and offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. 

- Nassau County public schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All school related activities have also been canceled.

- Union County public schools will be closed on Friday, Oct. 7. Football game has been moved ahead to Thursday night. 

- Baker County public schools will be closed Friday, Oct. 7. 

- University of North Florida has canceled all classes and events after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and will extend thru Saturday. Normal operations expected to resume on Sunday. Campus will remain open for students.

- Jacksonville University has canceled all activities after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 thru Sunday, Oct. 9. This includes classes, sporting events, Admissions Open House, and Homecoming & Family Weekend.

- Clay County public schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Bradford County public schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The football game for this week has also been canceled.

- Putnam County public schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. 

- Bolles School will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All after-school activities and athletic events on those days will be canceled.

- Episcopal School of Jacksonville will close the campus at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5. All after-school activities have been canceled. School will remain closed for Thursday and Friday. 

- Providence School of Jacksonville will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 6 and Friday, Oct. 7.  

- Florida State College at Jacksonville campuses will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Campuses will remain closed thru Saturday, Oct. 8. 

- Edward Waters College is closed beginning at 3 p.m. Oct. 5 and will resume Monday, Oct. 10.

- Flagler County public schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All after-school events are canceled for Wednesday, but extended-day programs will continue.

- Glynn County public schools will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 6 and Friday, Oct. 7. After-school activities have been canceled for Wednesday.

- Florida School for Deaf and Blind has canceled classes from Wednesday to Friday.

- Keiser University campuses in Jacksonville will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 and remain closed for Friday.

- University of Phoenix in Jacksonville will be closed on Thursday and Friday. 

- College of Coastal Georgia will be closed Wednesday, Oct. 5 thru Sunday, Oct. 9. All classes, athletic events and campus activities are canceled as of 7 a.m. Faculty and staff expected to report at 8 a.m. to assist with preparations and securing campus. Housing and dining services will close on campus after Wed. evening.

- Catholic Schools for the Diocese of St. Augustine have canceled all Catholic Schools in the 17-county region will close for after school care Thursday, Oct. 6 and all day Friday, Oct. 7.

- St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School in Palm Coast will close on Thursday.

- Blue Pearl Academy of Jacksonville will close Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. and remain closed until Monday, pending potential damage and power outages. 

- Riverside Presbyterian Day School has canceled classes on Thursday and Friday. 

- Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary has canceled all classes on Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9.

- Nova Southeastern University campuses throughout Florida will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and extend thru Sunday, Oct. 9.

- Parsons Christian Academy will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Hope Christian Academy of Jacksonville will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- The Discovery School in Jacksonville has canceled all classes on Thursday and Friday.

- Gingerbread House Learning Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Alpha Omega Learning Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Starke Christian School will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Cornerstone Christian School has canceled all classes, after-school activities and extended care on Thursday, Oct. 6 and Friday, Oct. 7. 

- Trinity Christian Academy and Trinity Baptist College will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Grace Episcopal Day School in Orange Park will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Beaches Episcopal School will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- King of Peace Episcopal Day School in Kingsland ,Ga.

- Sonshine Christian Academy in Nassau County is closed Thursday and Friday.

Navy Base Status:

- NAS JAX:  Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station Jacksonville has ordered the setting of Tropical Cyclone Condition of readiness four to be attained by October 4, 2016 at noon.

- NS Mayport: Sortie condition Charlie (Prepare to leave within 48 hours);  Navy Region Southeast has ordered the setting of Tropical Cyclone Condition of readiness four

Other Closures & Delays:

- Jacksonville Beach officials closed waters there beginning Wednesday, Oct. 5 through at least Saturday, Oct. 8. Officials will reassess conditions on Sunday to see if it's safe to reopen.

- The Jacksonville Armada NASL game against the Indy Eleven scheduled for Saturday night has been postponed due to concerns arising from Hurricane Matthew. No reschedule date has been given.

- Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, including Fort Caroline Memorial and Kingsley Plantation will close at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and remain closed until further notice.

- Cumberland Island National Seashore will be closed to all visitors starting Thursday, Oct. 6. thru Sunday, Oct. 9.

- Anastasia and Faver-Dykes state parks in St. Johns County have been closed until further notice.

- Fort Clinch State Park has been closed until further notice.

- Little Talbot Island State Park will be closed until further notice. 

- Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway (east) and Rodman Campground in Putnam County will be closed until further notice.

-The Jax Beach pier is closing. Workers say life guards have issued a state of emergency.

- The Main Street Bridge in downtown Jacksonville will be closed starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday to remove equipment ahead of the storm.

- St. Johns River Ferry will be closed on Thursday and Friday to relocate boats inland. 

- Jacksonville VA University location will close on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. and remain closed for Friday.

- Jacksonville VA Outpatient Clinic at the Jefferson location and South Point location will be closed on Friday, Oct. 7.

- St. Augustine Community Based Outpatient Clinic will be closed on Friday.

- St. Marys Community Based Outpatient Clinic will be closed on Friday.

- Palatka Community Based Outpatient Clinic will be closed on Friday. 

- Baker County Sheriff's 20th Annual Golf Tournament on Oct. 7 has been rescheduled for Oct. 21, 2016.

- Jacksonville's Cummer Museum will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 6 and Friday, Oct. 7.

- Grand opening of Lakewood Goodwill has been postponed until Oct. 20.

- Golden Isles Arts & Humanities has canceled Penguin Project on Oct. 6 and Open House and Opening of the Georgia Artists with Disabilities Exhibit. on Friday, Oct. 7.

- Wings Over the Golden Isles Air Show has been canceled. Event is being rescheduled for March 2017. 

- 7th Judicial Circuit has closed all courthouses on Thur. and Fri. First appearance hearings will be conducted on Thursday morning in Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties. Normal operations to resume on Monday, Oct. 10.

- Jacksonville Humane Society will close at noon on Thursday, Oct. 6 and remain closed on Friday. Offering storm sleepovers for pets that are up for adoption.

- Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens will be closed on Thursday and Friday. "Brew at the Zoo" has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 11.

- Ponte Vedra Beach library programs from Wednesday, Oct. 5 to Saturday, Oct. 8 have been canceled.

- Ponte Vedra Concert Hall has postponed performances on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, Oct. 9. 

- Jones Road Baptist Church will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

- Glynn County government offices and courts will be closed on Friday, Oct. 7.

- All St. Johns County government offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Emergency Operations will remain open.

- St. Johns County beaches are closed to vehicular traffic due to heavy surf and high tides. 

- Beacher's Lodge in Crescent Beach has started canceling reservations for this weekend.

- Jacksonville Art Walk has canceled outdoor festivities for Wednesday, Oct. 5.

- Duval County Republican Party & Victory offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 5. All events have been canceled. Scheduled to reopen on Monday.

- Culture Center at Ponte Vedra Beach will be closed from Thursday, Oct. 6 to Sunday, Oct. 9. 

- Savannah Fall Ramble scheduled for Oct. 7-9 has been postponed.

- First Coast CareerSource Northeast Florida will close offices at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and remain closed on Thursday and Friday. 

- Waldo Fire Station groundbreaking ceremony has been canceled. Event will be rescheduled.

- Web.com Tour Championship at TPC Sawgrass canceled due to weather.

- Riverside Arts Market has been canceled for Saturday, Oct. 8.

- The First Tee of North Florida has canceled all programs and classes from Wednesday, Oct. 5 to Sunday, Oct. 9.

- Brentwood Golf Course will be closed from Thursday, Oct. 6 to Saturday, Oct. 8.

- Hogans Creek Biodiversity Festival has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10.

- The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Jacksonville will be closing early on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and will remain closed on Thursday. 

- State forests in Nassau, Duval and Clay counties are all closed Oct. 6 beginning at noon.

- St. Johns County is closing their tax collector office Thursday and Friday of this week.

- Citi Bank will close their office starting Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

- Boeing at Cecil Airfield in Jacksonville will be closed from Thursday, Oct. 6 thru Sunday, Oct. 9.

- VyStar Credit Union will close all Jacksonville branches on Thursday at noon. VyStar ATMs will remain operational at this time. Members can continue to access account information online.

-State offices in Alachua, Columbia, DeSoto, Hardee, Hamilton, Hillborough, Levy, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Suwannee and Union counties will be closed Friday.
