Tropical Storm Hermine: The aftermath

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga.—Strong winds, rains and thunderstorms rocked most of southeast Georgia as Hermine passed through the area. The storm, a hurricane as it approached and a tropical storm as it left, sent a tornado to Savannah, Ga. and trees into homes along St. Simons Island.

Winds gusts got as a high as 60-61 mph in places like Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island. Trees are down throughout the area, falling into homes and onto roadways.

There are no reports of injuries at this time, but emergency crews, first responders and government officials are still documenting the damage.
