Therapy assistant faces sexual battery charges

FOLKSTON, Ga. - A therapy assistant at a physical therapy clinic in Folkston is facing sexual battery charges for incidents that allegedly occurred at the facility, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Stacy Carson says that Donald Nichols, 52, faces six counts of sexual battery connected to his work at Advance Rehabilitation in Folkston. Carson says the GBI was brought in by the Folkston Police Department to help determine if there are other victims.

The rehab clinic terminated Nichols when the allegations came up and is cooperating with police.

Nichols was arrested and has since bonded out of the Charlton County Jail.

If you have information about the case, you are asked to call the GBI at 912-729-6198.
