TPD shoots two following armed robbery, pursuit

Update: 2:26 p.m.

Tallahassee Police Department officers responded to a call for an armed robbery at Gamble and Mills streets at about 1:21 p.m.

Officers began pursuing the suspect's vehicle which eventually led to a foot pursuit, said Office Scott Beck, spokesman for TPD.

Officers fired their weapons and two individuals suspected of being involved in the robbery were injured, Beck said.

Beck said there are multiple crime scenes in the area but it is unclear where the shots were fired.

Police called media out to the corner of Call and Copeland streets but aren't sure where the shooting occurred.

"I'm not sure how we ended up here, whether this is where the footchase started or ended," Beck said.

Details are sparse at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Update: 2:08 p.m.

Florida State University Police report that Tallahassee Police are responding to a shooting incident near Copeland Street at Fine Arts Building. The notification from FSU PD said a suspect had been shot and a second suspect has been apprehended.

While FSU PD note that the area around Copeland and Call streets is an active crime scene and should be avoided, there is no current threat on campus.

The Tallahassee Police Department is working a crime scene at Call and Copeland streets. According to an Florida State University alert, there is no ongoing threat to the campus, but people are asked to avoid the area.
