Plane flips over in Daytona Beach during rainstorm

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A line of thunderstorms swept across central Florida, flipping a small plane that had just landed at Daytona International Airport.

Officials say heavy winds also knocked a tree onto a home in the Daytona Beach area on Monday evening. No injuries were reported.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports two people were inside the Cessna on the runway when the winds knocked it over.

Volusia County spokeswoman Joanne Magley says air traffic controllers at the airport clocked winds up to 75 miles per hour as the bad weather moved through the area.

The airport didn't close during the incident. Officials say there were reports of downed power lines across the area.

A woman was inside her home when a tree fell onto it. She was not injured.
