Body found floating in Halifax River

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Police are investigating after a body was found floating in the Halifax River.

An employee of the Halifax Sailing Association spotted the man's body Sunday afternoon.

Authorities believe he was a transient, who was in his late 50s or early 60s. They're trying to reach his next of kin.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports authorities say there were no visible signs of trauma. An autopsy is planned on Monday.
