First Coast News sits down with Joel Osteen before 'A Night of Hope'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One of the most famous ministers in the world is coming to the River City on Friday night.

Joel Osteen's "A Night of Hope" takes place at 7:30 p.m. the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. It is almost sold out.

Joel Osteen is the pastor of the largest church in the country, Lakewood Church in Texas.

His broadcasts are seen by 10 million viewers nationwide every week. And, he's the best selling author of 4 books.

His fifth book, "I Declare," was recently released.

First Coast News' Patty Crosby got the chance to speak with Pastor Osteen.

"I try to talk to people who were not raised like me, the preacher's kid. I've heard all the stories, practical and relevant, but I think that's when people say I'm not religious, but I like to listen to you."

There are just a few tickets left, 40 at last check.

Be sure to join us tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. when Patty continues her conversation with Joel Osteen.

She gets his thoughts about Tim Tebow and the criticism that his work is "watered down Christianity."
