Facebook helps solve 'major' burglary

WOODBINE, Ga. -- Social media helped the Camden County Sheriff's Office track down a burglary suspect early Friday morning.

According to CCSO, a home on Greenville Road was burglarized at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The burglars took 14 guns, a bag of coins, knives, watches, other personal items and pried open a safe.

CCSO asked for the public's help in a Facebook post at 9:45 p.m. The calls came rolling into the station with information about the burglary, and a suspect was arrested by 2 a.m. Friday morning, according to CCSO.

Most of the stolen items were recovered from three separate locations.

Joshua Michael Crippa, 28, was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

"This is what happens when dedicated law enforcement professionals apply themselves to a task. Without their hard work and the help of the people of Camden County through the Facebook notification the victim in the case would be very unhappy today. Fortunately we were able to gets his belongs back to him quickly. I want to thank all the CCSO employees who helped in this investigation."

The case remains open and additional arrests will be made.
