Elderly woman robbed in St. Augustine, suspect sought

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The search is on for a female suspect who allegedly committed armed robbery on an elderly woman Thursday in St. Augustine.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office says a 76 year old woman was in the parking lot in the 3900 block of A1A South when the female suspect approached and asked for directions. The suspect then pulled out a knife and demanded the woman's purse, according to SJCSO. The suspect then fled with the victim's purse and cell phone.

The suspect was described as a female around 40-years of age, 5'6" tall, 140-150 pounds with a thick build. She was wearing a grey shirt, black shorts and had salt and pepper hair.
