EDGWATER, Fla. -- A tornado touched down in Edgewater on Friday afternoon, causing heavy damage, according to the National Weather Service.
The tornado produced winds of up to 80 miles per hour and was classified as an EF-0.
The tornado touched down south of Daytona Beach near the Edgewater airport around 4:30 p.m., and flipped planes in the process. Tree damage was also reported in the area.
Damage was also reported in Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach.
