Coast Guard helps 4 boaters after collision near Port Canaveral

The Coast Guard helped four boaters on Sunday after a commercial fishing vessel and a boat collided 2 miles east of Port Canaveral.

The Jacksonville Coast Guard received a call from a member aboard the 48-foot fishing vessel, Joyce Marie, at 3:30 p.m. stating its outrigger and a 25-foot boat had collided. A Coast Guard crew helped two adults and two children off the 25-foot boat. The boaters were taken to Jetty Park where EMS was waiting.

An adult male had minor injuries, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
