Adult entertainment and nudity.
A package of ordinances tackling a controversial subject brought out nearly a hundred people to Tuesday's Clay County Commission meeting.
In the end the final vote drew an applause from the large audience.
The conversation began about a year ago. What would happen if adult entertainment shops began to pop up with in Clay County?
A set of ordinances were proposed to help with regulation.
But before it could pass residents said -- not so fast. Some even got creative during Tuesday's public hearing. Three proposed ordinances were at the center of the debate.
One would regulate how adult businesses could operate in the county, another restricts public nudity.. and a third deals with where adult businesses could be located.
There were 28 proposed sites scattered throughout Clay. The locations some argued were too close for comfort around homes, churches and schools.
In the end the commission decided to delay a final vote. The package of ordinances were tabled for six months.
Four members were for the move and just one against, Commissioner Wendell Davis.
The board plans to study the need for adult entertainment regulation.
Their deadline to make a final decision is now April of 2015.
For those of you interested in learning more about the proposed ordinances on November 6 there will be a public Q and A session held here at the County's administration building at 7 p.m.
