TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (AP) - U.S. Coast Guard officials say a casino boat with 123 people aboard is stuck on rocks off the coast of Georgia.
Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Anthony L. Soto said 96 passengers and 27 crew members are aboard the 174-foot-long vessel The Escapade.
Soto tells The Associated Press that no injuries or medical issues have been reported, and the vessel was "stable" as of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Soto says the boat is about 1.8 miles off the north end of Tybee Island, a popular beach destination near Savannah.
Soto says the Coast Guard received reports that the vessel ran aground around midnight Tuesday. He says he's not certain of the details of plans to remove the passengers but that Coast Guard crews are awaiting high tide, expected early Wednesday afternoon.
