Body found floating in creek behind Federal Reserve building

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man's body was found in a creek late Thursday morning behind the Federal Reserve building on Water Street.

According to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Michael Paul, boaters found the body and they think he has been in the creek for several days.

JSO is working with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department to extract the man's body from the water.

Until the body is removed from the creek, investigators will not know if foul play is suspected, Paul said. Police are also checking missing person reports to make sure the body is not someone missing.
