Bobby Raulerson out at Providence, Jeff Kopp in

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Providence head football coach Bobby Raulerson was replaced Thursday, according to reports.

Former Jaguars linebacker Jeff Kopp is the Stallions new head football coach.

Kopp tweeted:"Just offered and accepted HC Football job at Providence. Really excited for this opportunity to lead this program to competitive greatness."

Kopp is one of the staff's longest tenured coaches, he has been at the school four years.

The Stallions are coming off a 6-5 season and an appearance in the 3A state playoffs.

Raulerson had no comment but said he'd release a statement soon.

Bishop Synder head football coach Brian "Jake" McCrae told First Coast Sports that he spoke with Raulerson shortly after the news broke.

McCrae says Raulerson says he feels like he's had the rug pulled out from under him.

Raulerson's predecessorPaul Peterson left the team in 2011.

Coach McCrae says he was caught off guard by the news but he believes coach Raulerson will land on his feet.
