ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla.- Crews have begun the task of cleaning up debris on St. Johns County's 42 miles of coastline.
The beach clean-up began on Vilano Beach and will move north through Ponte Vedra Beach, the county announced. Then clean up will begin at Summer Haven and move north to St. Augustine Beach.
Hurricane Matthew caused nearly $2 billion in damage to St. Johns County, with much of it occurring along the county's beaches.
County officials say they are adding additional resources to expedite the beach clean up.
