St. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A 21-year-old woman was walking along the sidewalk at Orange St. from Castillo Dr. E toward US 1 when she was approached by a male driving a Chevrolet Tahoe with a large black brush guard.

The white male with curly blonde hair followed her in his vehicle and repeatedly asked her if she needed a ride. The victim told him that she did not need a ride and asked him to leave her alone.

The male then pulled ahead of her and parked his car in a driveway. He got out of the car, grabbed her arm, and said "just come with me." The female victim was able to push the male away, which caused him to let go.

The male got back into his vehicle and continued to follow her down the road. The male finally left her alone when another vehicle pulled up behind him and honked their horn.

After the female victim told the police officer her story, she agreed to ride back to the Police Station with him to be further interviewed. She sat in the rear seat of his patrol car.

As they were traveling south on Riberia St, the officer observed a white Chevrolet Tahoe with a large black brush guard attached to the front of it.

The officer pulled him over and they took the suspect into custody.

As an Officer was walking the suspect back to the patrol car, he opened the rear door of the patrol car that had the female victim in it. After the suspect got a brief glimpse of her, he made a spontaneous utterance of "I did not kidnap her because she is sitting in the police car."

The suspect was arrested and booked into the St. Johns County Jail.
