JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two teens were shot at a nightclub late Saturday night.
Patrol officers in the area of the 600 block of Park Street heard gunshots and responded to DaTunnel nightclub to find people running and appearing to be searching for cover, according to a police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
A woman in a black SUV flagged down officers and pointed out a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the arm and hand at the DaTunnel in the 300 block of Park. The child was transported to UF Health Jacksonville in serious condition.
Another victim, Devarrius Rashad Dejohn Worthen, 19, was shot in the left side as he rushed out of DaTunnel nightclub and into his car searching for cover, according to the police report. Worthen drove himself to an area hospital for treatment.
The report states the incident began with several people inside the club talking about fighting and could be gang related.
Witnesses on scene describe a male suspect wearing dark blue Nautica swim trunks armed with a small caliber hand gun.
An investigation is underway and a suspect has not been named.
