FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -- A man from Middleburg died when his motorcycle collided with a van near Bunnell Saturday night.
Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Dylan Bryan said the crash occurred around 10 p.m. on highway US-1.
Ronald Salyer, 55, and 54-year-old Randall Hatcher was their motorcycles traveling south towards Daytona Beach.
According to Bryan, a van, driven by 65-year-old Gary Wyatt, was driving north when he shifted into the south lane to avoid a colliding with another vehicle that had stopped on the roadway in the intersection.
Wyatt's van crossed directly into the path of both motorcyclists but only ended up coming in contact with Salyer's motorcycle which was immediately engulfed in flames.
Hatcher laid his motorcycle down in order to avoid colliding with Wyatt's van and only had minor injuries.
Salyer was pronounced dead at the scene by Flagler County Rescue.
The three occupants of the van were not injured.
Bryan said US-1 near CR-304 has been completely shut down while FHP conducts its investigation.
