JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was convicted Friday for the July 2009 murder of 70-year-old Lola Faulk.
According to a State Attorney's press release, George Peppard Landgraff was sentenced for first degree murder and armed burglary with assault or battery.
Faulk's grandson found her brutally beaten and shot to death inside of her home. The victim's dog was found dead on top of the victim, according to the release.
It was determined during the investigation that Landgraff, 33, and two co-defendants broke into Faulk's home to commit a burglary and many items were taken, including a TV. During the burglary, Faulk was shot multiple times and struck with a concrete block.
Landgraff faces a mandatory life in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced the week of November 18.
