JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was convicted for armed robbery for the alleged theft of a phone and $96 from a gas station clerk in 2010.
Anthony Ray Christopher, 29, now faces life in prison for the crime.
Christopher was recently convicted on the charge of armed robbery with actual possession of a firearm.
In July 2010, Christopher robbed the Kangaroo gas station on Old Middleburg Road, according to the State Attorney's Office.
Surveillance video showed Christopher entered the store and pulled out a pistol, took the clerk's smartphone and demanded the $96 from the cash register. He then fled the scene.
Christopher later listed the stolen phone for sale on Craigslist.
When the purchaser found out the phone was stolen, he contacted the victim which helped investigators tack down Christopher.
Christopher has a prior conviction for robbery in Camden County, Georgia. He faces life in prison and will be sentenced October 17.
