JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- If you're looking to add a furry friend to your family, you'll have your chance to do so for a bargain in a few days.
More than 1,000 animals will be up for adoption during the Mega Adoption Event October 4-6 at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds.
The adoption fee will be reduced to $20, which includes a license fee, microchips, vaccines and spaying or neutering.
The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., is being held by the city's Animal Care and Protective Services, Jacksonville Humane Society and First Coast No More Homeless Pets.
