JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man had his first court appearance Tuesday after being charged with federal charges for allegedly receiving child pornography over the internet.
Jimmy Holmes, 57, was arrested at his Fleming Island residence Tuesday after a search warrant was served by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Clay County Sheriff's Office, according to a State Attorney's press release.
Upon being questioned during his arrest, Holmes allegedly told officials he works at a YMCA in Fleming Island teaching sports to children.
According to the press release, Holmes allegedly admitted using a file sharing program to download child pornography and share it with other computer users. It also details that child pornography would be found on his external hard drives, which officials confirmed his statement through an onsite examination.
He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing Thursday.
If convicted, he faces at least five years and no more than 20 years in prison.
