ORLANDO, Fla. -- A teen escaped a kidnap attempt in Baldwin Park on Sunday, authorities said.
Orlando police said the 13-year-old boy was jogging about 8:30 a.m. when he stopped at a construction site to use a portable bathroom.
Police spokesman Sgt. Jim Young said a man in a pickup called the teen and tried to pull him into the bed of the truck that was parked on Ethan Lane and Prospect Avenue. Police said the teen escaped from the man and ran away.
Detectives said the man drove a new black Chevrolet Silverado pickup. He is described as a large, white male, weighing about 200 pounds, with red hair, blue eyes and a goatee.
Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
