JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has been convicted on one count of sexual battery according to a State Attorney press release.
A witness to the abuse notified police of sexual activity with a minor in 2012. The release detailed Dalina Nicholas was supervising the victim at the time of the incident but failed to protect the child because of her alleged crack addiction.
The victim said that John Hagans, 48, also known as "Mute", had touched her inappropriately.
Hagans faces a mandatory life sentence and is scheduled for sentencing the week of September 16.
Nicholas pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child neglect. She is awaiting sentencing, however the State is recommending a sentence of no less than 25 years in prison.
