NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- A man has been charged with possession of a hoax bomb, according to Nassau County Police Director of Patrol and Investigation Roy Henderson.
29-year-old veteran Christopher Peeples was allegedly building improvised explosive devices at his parents Blackrock Road residence in Yulee. He also allegedly threatened to blow up specific people and places, Henderson said. A police informant and neighbors were concerned enough by Peeples' behavior to alert authorities - including bomb technicians and investigators from JSO.
Henderson said NCSO served a search warrant at the home Wednesday, at which point investigators found the devices, which turned out to be incomplete or fake.
Peeples was transported to the Nassau County Jail and is held on $100,002 bond.
