JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The best inventions usually make the rest of us say, "why didn't I think of that?"
A small Jacksonville company has come up with an idea from a very unique place and they're working hard to make a splash in some big stores.
Serious business getting done in an office off Greenland Road. Alexandra Ranere's company may be small, but she's sending products all over the world.
"Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Bermuda."
But it's not all work and no play. Actually, with what they make is mostly play.
A device that fills water balloons, which was invented back in 2009 by a family member in South Carolina.
"This is Lexi, my granddaughter, she's the inventor of the Pumponator," Ranere said.
She was 8 years old when she came up with the idea during a backyard water balloon fight.
They're in 2,400 stores, but not the big boys yet.
"It's very difficult to get into the big box stores. We're a small company."
If they win a nationwide contest, all based on votes, Walmart will sell the Pumponator and her other products.
"It would be huge. It would be a life changer for us."
