PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A man landed himself in jail after allegedly leading police on a car chase and then fled on foot.
A deputy patrolling the area of Citron Avenue and South Highway 17 Sunday noticed a car speeding, according to a Facebook post by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies attempted to pull the car over, but the driver did not stop.
While deputies pursued the driver, he allegedly veered off the road and drove into a yard. The driver got out of the car and then fled on foot, according to the PCSO.
The driver was later identified as 36-year-old Rubin Perry.
Perry is being charged with fleeing and eluding and cruelty towards a child for leaving a juvenile behind in the vehicle as he fled on foot from law enforcement.
Perry is currently being held in the Putnam County Jail on a $1004.
