LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A man walking in the middle of Georgia Avenue at 4:18 a.m. Monday was stopped for questioning by police, according to a Lake City Police Department press release.
Lake City Police Officer Thomas was patrolling the area when he saw Christopher Farmer, 20 walking in the middle of the road. While speaking with Farmer, Thomas observed that he was nervous.
Farmer gave his ID to Thomas when allegedly a small plastic bag fell from his pocket. Thomas did not see what was in the bag.
Thomas then allegedly asked to pat down Farmer for weapons and he consented, none was found.
According to the release, Thomas asked if Farmer possessed anything illegal and Farmer allegedly said he dropped it. Thomas seized the bag of marijuana and placed it into evidence.
Farmer is charged with possession of marijuana.
