PALATKA, Fla. -- A Paltka woman is in critical condition after she was attacked by two women wielding a hammer and a glass bottle Saturday night.
According to Sgt. Todd Davis of the Palatka Police Department, Kristin Fuce, 31, was jumped by two females Saturday night around 9:52 p.m. at 807 N 17th Street.
One woman hit Fuce with a hammer and the other woman broke a bottle over her head, according to Davis.
Police believe Fuce was trying to get away from her attackers and found her near 1200 Olive St.
After being transported to Putnam County Medical Center, Fuce's condition worsened and she was life-flighted to Shands Gainesville Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Fuce's mother, Marilyn Fuce, said Kristin is in a medicated coma.
The motive for the crime is not known by police.
Police are searching for the suspects.
