JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The victim of a Christmas 2012 incident has recovered and identified the attacker.
A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office press release said JSO officers went to check on the victim due to a neighbors concern. When the officers arrived, they were greeted by Maximillian Michaels.
Michaels, 51, allegedly opened the door with a sword in his hand and threatened the officers. Once law enforcement subdued Michaels, they found the victim in a rear bedroom of the home with severe head and face injuries.
The victim was transported to Shands Jacksonville, which is now UF Health at Jacksonville. After going through rehabilitation, the victim has identified Maximillian Michaels, 51, as the attacker, the release detailed.
Michaels is in the Duval County Jail for assault on the officers, has now been charged with attempted felony murder and false imprisonment for his attack.
