CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A 19-year-old Clay County Jail inmate died Tuesday despite attempts made by prison personnel and first responders to revive the man.
A detention deputy found Daniel Linsindigler unconscious during his routine rounds at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Prison personnel started to perform CPR on the inmate until members of the Clay County Fire Rescue arrived to transport him to Orange Park Medical Center, according to CCSO spokesperson Mary Justino.
Those attempts were in vain though. Linsindigler was pronounced dead at Orange Park Medical Center at 10 a.m. His arraignment hearing was scheduled for this Thursday.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is assisting the CCSO with its investigation, which is standard procedure when an inmate dies while in custody.
Linsindigler was initially arrested March 2 on charges of Indecent Exposure Public and Trespass - Occupied Structure of Conveyance.
According to a CCSO arrest report, he was running around the hall of the second floor of the Stay Suites of America on Wells Road saying "he could save everybody and he was God."
