JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For the second year in a row, Janet Cherobon-Bawcom finished first in the Gate River Run.

Janet and the rest of the elite women were given a 6 minute and 35 second head start over the rest of the field.  Because Janet was able to cross the finish line before men's winner Ben True, she won a $5,000 equalizer bonus.

Cherobon-Bawcom's time was 49:44 while True's time was 43:38.

Including the equalizer bonus, Cherobon-Bawcom won $17,000 in prize money for winning the Gate River Run.

There were a total of 17,454 runners who registered for the 15K race.
