ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A man has been charged with cultivation of cannabis after 157 marijuana plants were discovered on his property Thursday morning.
Michael Shane Colvin, 47, was arrested and booked into the St. Johns County Jail and later released on $5,000 bond, according to a release from St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.
The marijuana, which is valued at $157,000, was found to be growing in two separate buildings on the property, located in the 6800 block of Tammy Lane.
A stolen shotgun was also found.
An anonymous tip led to a warrant being obtained by the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Tri-County Narcotics Task Force, which is sponsored by the SJSO and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The SJSO SWAT team secured the residence and then turned it over to investigators.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending, Kelshaw said.
