JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have arrested an alleged armed robbery suspect who hit two businesses, after a witness gave police a tag number of a fleeing vehicle.
Police say Daniel Rafuse, 25, entered the Dollar General at 8111 West Beaver street at 830 in the morning on Sunday, displayed a knife and demanded money from the register. After receiving the money, police say he fled the business in a silver Nissan.
A witness wrote the tag number on her hand and called the police.
At 1140, police say a robbery occured at the Flash Foods in the 7900 block of Devoe Street. Descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle were the same as in the robbery at the Dollar General.
The suspect was located and arrested after the robbery to the Flash Foods. A check of the vehicle registration revealed it was registered to the suspects' wife. Police contacted her and she said the suspect had been in possession of the vehicle since the previous day.
The witness identified the suspect in a photo spread say police. The suspect was arrested on armed robbery charges.
