JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Major League Soccer will make its Jacksonville debut on Feb. 15 when Philadelphia Union plays Montreal Impact in an exhibition match at EverBank Field.
In a release from Mayor Alvin Brown's office, he said the exhibition game will help expand the City of Jacksonville's sports and entertainment portfolio.
"This debut match of our three-year agreement with the Philadelphia Union is another great step that we, as a city, are taking to generate buzz and bring new energy to the Downtown area," Brown said.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and a limited number of field seats will be available for the game, starting at $150. Fans will be able to purchase those tickets at Ticketmaster.com or the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena box office.
A youth clinic will also be offered to the first 500 kids before the game at 5:30 p.m. on the Florida Blue Practice Fields.
The clinic will feature players from both teams.
