JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday morning the arrest of a 52-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting on Radcliff Court Monday.
Homicide Lieutenant Rob Schoonover said in a news conference police arrested Aaron Kaiser for first-degree murder.
Kaiser and a friend of 13 years, 46-year-old Nevil Barrett, argued Monday night at the apartments in the 4700 block of Radcliff Court, Schoonover said.
Schoonover said police received three 911 calls in reference to the argument and that one call was even made by Kaiser. The callers said the two men were outside arguing loudly.
Schoonover said as officers were en route they received updated information the disturbance was not a shooting.
When police arrived they found Barrett with four gunshot wounds. Barrett died at a local hospital.
When detectives interviewed Kaiser, Schoonover said he admitted to shooting Barrett. When asked what the argument was about, Schoonover said Kaiser could not recall what the two argued about since they argued all the time.
Kaiser is being held at the Duval County Jail. He is not eligible for bond.
