JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 30-year-old crashed into the wall of the Buckman Bridge after the Florida Highway Patrol said she fell asleep.
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning on the Southbound side of the Buckman Bridge according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said Courtney Thurman crashed her 2002 Ford Focus into the concrete barrier wall in the right emergency lane when she fell asleep.
Thurman was not injured in the crash. The report said emergency personnel transported a passenger, 37-year-old Aimee Stead, with minor injuries.
FHP cited Thurman for careless driving.
