JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One man has died after a fatal single-vehicle accident on Interstate 95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver of a 2002 Honda Accord was Michael W. Kriesel, 22 of Manlius, N.Y. He was traveling southbound on Interstate 95, south of Baymeadows Road, just before the Philips Highway exit, according to the crash report.
Crash investigators say Kriesel's car for some unknown reason drifted into onto the grass shoulder and crashed into a concrete base for mounting a sign overhead alongside the interstate shortly after 5 in the morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said. According to the FHP Kriesel was wearing a seat belt.
The FHP says alchohal hasn't been ruled and is pending further investigation.
One lane southbound on Interstate 95 was closed for almost four hours while FHP worked the scene.
