PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- An East Palatka man died in a pedestrian-involved-accident at 11:30 p.m. Friday while crossing US-17 at Kane Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
John R. Mullins, 45, walked into the path of a vehicle driving northbound on US-17, Troopers said. The vehicle was driven by Jeffery Carter, 29, of East Palatka.
FHP said paramedics pronounced Mullins dead at the scene.
Charges against Carter are pending according to the incident report.
