PALM COAST, Fla. -- Thomas Underwood, 31, is being held in the Flagler County Inmate Facility after potential victims came forward with allegations that he sexually abused them while babysitting them 16 years ago.
Underwood was arrested Thursday and is facing five counts of sexual battery and three counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 12, according to a release from Flagler County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Debra Johnson.
One of the victims, who is now 22, said that Underwood sexually abused him when he was 10, and then between 200 and 300 times over several years.
Another victim, whose story is similar to others, was eight at the time of the abuse. She said that Underwood, who was 15 when he molested her, was babysitting her or managed to be alone with her while they mutually were visiting someone's home.
