GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Carrying on a 31-year tradition, Clay County children will receive gifts at the annual J.P. Hall Children's Charity Christmas Party on December 15.
The party will take place at the Clay County Fairgrounds located at 2497 State Road 16 West and will go from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event has given 43,000 children Clay County a Christmas that may not have been possible for the past 31 years.
The Christmas party will give children from newborn to 14 years of age a bag of new toys based on age and gender.
Children will also be able to pick one gently-used toy to take home. Throughout the day, names will be drawn at random to receive a bicycle.
The Orange Park Clothes Closet will be on hand to give entire families free clothing.
During the event, partygoers will be treated to hot dogs, sodas and popcorn while carolers sing Christmas songs.
Gates for the party will open at 8 a.m. and will close right at noon. Organizers are expecting long lines. Anyone in line before the gates close will receive a gift.
Children must be present in order to claim their gift and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
The party is open to any Clay County resident with proof of residency.
