ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Alligator Farm will celebrate Thanksgiving in its own way by holding special feeding and enrichment sessions for many of its animals.
Maximo, the farm's giant saltwater crocodile, will launch his 15-foot, 1,250-pound body out of the water to enjoy his turkey feast. Maximo will share his feast with his female companion Sydney.
Smaller but not left out, the alligators will hang out at the kids' table, enjoying a meal of chicken.
The Giant Galapagos tortoises will have a vegetarian menu made up of autumn vegetables.
Special enrichment items like toys and foraging devices will keep the red-ruffed lemurs occupied and entertained.
The farm will feature special hours this Thursday and Friday. Thanksgiving day the Alligator Farm will be open fro 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday gates open at 9 a.m. and will close at 5 p.m.
Regular admission rates apply.
