ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help finding a man who tried to rob the Kangaroo gas station on State Road 16 on Thursday morning.
Kevin Kelshaw, Media Relations Officer with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, said deputies were called to the business in the 400 block of State Road 16 before 5 a.m. Thursday.
The 38-year-old store clerk told police a man came into the store and demanded money.
Kelshaw said the clerk never saw a weapon, but the suspect implied he was armed.
Without taking any money or merchandise, the man then fled out of the store and was last seen running on Schallers Road, Kelshaw said.
The man police are looking for is described as a white male, with an average build, about 5'9" tall and was wearing a long-sleeve flannel plaid shirt, dark blue shorts, black sneakers and had short brown hair.
Anyone with information concerning the identity of the man in the surveillance pictures is asked to contact Detective David Garns at the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-209-3982.
You may also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible to receive a cash reward by calling Crime Stoppers of N.E. Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS.
