KINGSLAND, Ga. -- Big economic news out of Camden County for our region. Ledo International is finalizing plans to bring an entertainment and adventure resort to Kingsland.

That's according to Thor Degelmann of Ledo International. He said the working title for the project is Kingsland Entertainment and Adventure Resorts.

According to Degelmann, the project involves 574 acres off Exit 3 in Kingsland. The resort would employ 800 people. There are four districts being considered. One would be for hospitality events involving a conference center. One would be an outdoor and indoor entertainment area, including an amphitheater. The third district would be a water adventure park. And, the fourth would involve a sports district that included a sports complex.

Degelmann says they hope to attract tourists from Jacksonville to the Golden Isles. The company is presenting its plan in late October to the Kingsland City Council.

If approved, at the earliest, this entertainment and adventure resort could become a reality in Kinglsand by late 2014.
