Motorcyclist critically injured in Putnam County crash

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A 41-year-old man sustained critical injuries after he was ejected from his motorcycle following a collision with a SUV.

Michael Forget was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle southbound on State Road 207 near Shore Drive around 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Forget, who is from Florahome, was behind an Isuzu Rodeo driven by 36-year-old Crystal Simmons.

The report said for an unknown reason the Honda's front fender collided with the right side of the Isuzu's rear bumper.

The force of the crash caused the motorcycle to overturn onto the west shoulder of SR-207, ejecting Forget.

Emergency personnel transported Forget to Shands Gainesville.  He was critically injured in the crash.

Simmons was not injured in the crash however a 27-year-old passenger, Louis Cedeno, suffered minor injuries.

The report said charges in the crash are pending.
