KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. -- A 51-year-old Keystone Heights woman, driving without her headlights on, was killed late Friday night in a traffic crash.

Angela Cook was driving west on State Road 100 around 11:15 p.m. Thursday night when her vehicle veered into the eastbound lanes and hit a vehicle driving the opposite direction, according to a news release from Clay County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mary Justino.

Cook's vehicle then hit a fence. Cook, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown to the passenger side of the vehicle.

Clay County Fire Rescue Unit 11 transported Cook to Shands Starke where she was pronounced deceased. Justino said it is unknown at this time why Cook's lights were off or if alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Christina Hall, 34, the driver of the vehicle Cook hit, was taken to Shands Gainesville with non-life threatening injuries.

Justino said the crash is still under investigation.
